Tally of costs
I'm so incredibly tired from all the editing I had to do yesterday, and that really long blog post.
The extra bottles of Cola somewhat helped staying awake, but I felt like a zombie, and as of typing this it's 6 in the morning and I have so much editing left, alongside a Digipak and Social Media page.
It'll all be over by tonight at least.
I'll be speaking off of memory mostly as I didn't really write things down but, compared to last year's 3500 Pkr (I think it translated to 20 pounds at the time) for the stand and that's it, there were quite a few more investments made this time around.
For starters, the stand I used last year, I refunded it within a week and got a better version of it which was a bit more expensive, at 5500 Pkr. My parents didn't like how expensive it was, and I don't really know how much 32 pounds translates to but in this country it's definitely a lot. I had to use my own life savings to purchase it. It was functionally the same as the stand I had before it, except for one key difference: It was a tripod/monopod combo. I could take the entire top off and turn it into a 6 foot (1.8m) long selfie stick.
I then got carried away with it and used it quite frequently, especially the extendable selfie stick part. But I didn't consider just how cheap the phone adapter I currently had, and, well, caused my brother's phone to break from it.
At one point my brother's phone broke when I was on the way to the store to get a cover attached to it and put it in a casing, so this wouldn't happen. It happened minutes before I was taking the measure to stop it from happening.
That isn't relevant to the monopod, that's just so I can read in the future and facepalm at that memory.
Then at another point my phone was out of battery and I wanted to take a photo, so I got my brother's, and, while it was all the way up, it fell out of the adapter and broke. Again.
The first time repair was 4500 Pkr and the second time was 6000 Pkr. Which I feel really guilty of. But it did make me realize to get a more powerful phone adapter, and I found one with a screw in it, which I purchased for 230 Pkr (A little under 1 Pound). And I've been using it for over a year without issue. Technically I didn't actually spend the repair money on my project but it was still the cost of learning.
I bought a ring light specifically for the desk filming for 1800 Pkr, it came with a Gorillapod mount which was convenient.
I had to buy Gmod/Garry's Mod so I could bring the 3D Map of Summoner's Rift into Blender, that cost 9.99 USD or about 1750 Pkr.
Filming at gym: Roshan had to take an Uber to get to my home and back, each trip costing 500 Pkr, so the round trip was 1000 Pkr.
Filming at Shakarparian: Entry to the site was 50 Pkr and Entry to Pakistan Monument was 20 Pkr. Fahad (Singer) had taken an Uber and said the trip cost about 450 Pkr. So a return trip would be about the same, but could be more depending on rain and that we were all quite far from any major stops. So I gave him 1000 Pkr.
I bought two 1.5L Cola bottles to keep myself awake last night, so combined cost 220 Pkr.
I bought a Shawarma for 500 Pkr instead of 180 Pkr because I forgot to take the change of it. And this is being included because I wouldn't have bought said Shawarma if I hadn't been filming at School at 3:30pm.
Petrol costs for location scouting of Sports Complex, and filming at Shakarparian, is probably in the neighborhood of 4000 Pkr to 6000 Pkr because of how far away Shakarparian was and how frequent the visits were to Sports Complex in investigation of a ring.
I think that covers most of it, so in total we have:
2000 (Stand), 230 (Adapter), 1800 (Light), 1750 (GMod), 1000 (Transport of Roshan), 50+20 (Filming at Shakarparian), 1000 (Transport of Fahad), 220 (Cola), 500 (Shawarma), 4000-6000 (Petrol).
For a grand total of: A minimum spend of 12,470 Pkr, or about 53 Pounds.
It could and probably should be way more because of inflation and petrol and electricity but I'm just gonna leave it at that being the bare minimum cost of things I know needed to be paid that otherwise wouldn't have been if I wasn't doing this project.
If we ignore things like equipment as they're reusable, that cuts the cost down to:
1000 (Transport of Roshan), 70 (Filming at Shakarparian), 1000 (Transport of Fahad), 220 (Cola), 500 (Shawarma), 4000-6000 (Petrol)
A minimum spend of: 6790 Pkr, or about 29 Pounds.
So these 4 minutes of footage cost about 40 dollars US.
And my sanity. But I lose that every day so I mean, that's not much.
