Blender Animation Part 3: The Characters

Still undecided on who to bring in. There's quiiite the variety though.

League has quite a few giant characters in it. Aurelion Sol for example is multiple lightyears long. But an ancient mystic god like dragon wouldn't really be fitting to fight a sniper and a woman who's good at punching things. Or well maybe for comedic effect like Thor vs Surtur in Thor: Ragnarok, but not here. So more appropriate would be someone like...Aatrox, Cho'gath, Malphite, Sion, Zac, Alistar, etc. Who are....a 7 meter demon, a planet sized void monster, a mountain, a big guy, a goo lab experiment, and a giant bull, respectively.

I think I'll go with Malphite because his proportions might be easier to animate.

So I'm searching around for 3D Models. I could rip them directly from the game but those are incredibly low poly, purely because Riot would prefer having as many machines run League of Legends as possible. The lesser the requirement, the more the players. These models aren't really usable for animation purposes, so I'll have to look around for something that's designed to be used in animation.

In my search I stumbled upon another game by Riot, called League of Legends: Wild Rift. This is a mobile version of League but being newer, it has far superior models and better optimization. The 3D Models also look way better. Unfortunately I'm not experienced with ripping models from mobile, so I'll have to look for tutorials or get a download from someone who already did that step.

I found a specific individual who does this sort of thing and wanted to contact him to ask for models, before finding....this....at which point I felt terrible because I've worked in customer support and it's just a terrible feeling. So instead my adventures lead me to a different place. A discord server which went by the name of 'Wild Rift Models', which was the exact thing I was looking for.

Not every single model was actually available, as they have to be manually ripped and rigged by hand, but there was still quite the variety. Namely, Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, Senna, and Malphite were what caught my eye. I considered having Caitlyn and Vi work together against Malphite but also having some form of influence from a third character, that being Jinx or Senna. Ultimately I decided on Senna because she has a huge gun and.....she also has more clothes on.

Vi, Senna, Caitlyn, against Malphite. This'll be fun.
