Digipak and 3D Render

Our teacher can be a quite the mysterious one sometimes.

When I arrived initially into AS we were told in advance that we'd have to make a music video and a social media page and a thing called a Digipak. Frequently last year, other students from A2 would express their concerns over not having this prepared, and out of curiosity I'd always ask what it is, and he'd always say that you'd find out in A2.

The day he revealed it was so anticlimactic when he just told us it was just a DVD cover. Who even uses DVD's in 2022.

But then he asked us how old the song was to which I had to say 2012, when DVD's were still quite popular, so I didn't debate further about it.

I still expected something more....relevant. Like a vinyl cover. Despite being older they're still used by a lot of people, especially people with a hobby of collecting. Or maybe a poster or a hype up post. I mean compared to DVD the only thing less popular is probably the floppy disk.

But I digress. Here it is.

I do like the effect that the light makes in the CD hole, with both boxers on left and right side, though the reason why there's no dedicated images for this is because I was so focused on making the videos that on the days of filming, the thought of the Digipak had escaped my head, hence the re-using of images. Otherwise I would've had my actor strike poses and do extra things for it.

The barcode is meant to say 'Your Name'. I don't know yet whether it'll work on the scanner of whoever's watching, I do hope it works though. I just used an online service to make it, there's a chance it doesn't.

This doesn't really give a good idea of how it would actually look, so I went ahead and applied it to Blender to see how it would practically look as well.
