Filming: Basketball Finale, 16th February 2022

This was....terrible. Like just straight up bad.

Wahaj was a good player but not a good actor. Or maybe I wasn't doing my job well as a director when I was asking him to do specific motions. Either way, I don't think I can use the footage I collected today.

To start with, everyone who I asked to arrive, not ONE person came. And I asked at least like 20 people. They didn't prioritize it, there was a football match happening in the field against another school and they were more interested in that.

So we ended up just asking the people already there for filming, and it was just a 2v2. And...it didn't work. There was no narrative, no pacing, no flow, the Mobile Gimbal was acting up and I didn't have much experience with it, the lighting was off, other people kept interrupting, my phone ran out of battery so I had to use the phone of one of the players, the list goes on.

The footage is there but it's terrible...I don't want to use it. It's so bad that I'd rather not even have a video than have that, it would hurt my soul to use that footage. I know I can do better.

But I really need to get the video done, so what are my options?

At this point I still have only 1 of 5 parts done. The boxing finale is what I really have to figure out because the other parts are already arranged.

So.....hmm.....what if I film it without the ring?

With that criteria my options are limitless, but I still have to make the background appropriate....I could take inspiration from the Official Music Video and have it be dimly lit....I do have a couple of big lights at home that I could potentially use for that effect.

More planning is needed but, at 2pm the Gym Hall is completely deserted and dark, and in the gym hall I'd also be able to use school equipment.

Yeah, this just might work out. But there's no time this week, so I'll have to ask Jawad (Main Boxer) when he's actually available to film a fight in school.
